THE ARMOUR OF THE SOLDIER

I Samuel 17

Before The Armour

---Before the Armour was required, first the enemy was identified.  I Samuel 17:26.

---Before the Armour the skeptics need be silenced.  I Samuel 17:28.

---Before the Armour the obstacle must be known.  I Samuel 17:31.

---Before the Armour the cause must be known.  I Samuel 17:29.

---Before the Armour, the Armour bearer demonstrates his qualifications - PROVEN.  I Samuel 17:33-37.

Note:  We find here there was the heart of a soldier before he suited up with the Armour.  This attitude comes only from a young man that had a confidence in his God.

Sometimes Others Just Don't Get It

---The wrong Armour can be deadly.  I Samuel 17:38

---The wrong Armour can cause us to focus on it and not the enemy.  I Samuel 17:39.

Note:  Wise decision to use what God has given you, not what the world wants you to do - remember you are preparing to fight an enemy that wants to destroy you.

What Happens When We Get It Right

---He took what he had.  I Samuel 17:40.

---He frustrated his enemy by his simple approach to battle - Just like God to help draw attention away to give the enemy an over confidence-he does not prepare!!  I Samuel 17:41-44.

---Hold On Goliath!  You are about to get stoned.  I Samuel 17:45 and I Samuel 17:47.

---You never want the soldier to run at you!  I Samuel 17:48.

---Getting the right tool ready - more important have the RIGHT tool for the job.  I Samuel 17:49.

YOU SEE THE WRONG ARMOUR WILL NEVER KEEP YOU SAFE FROM THE JUDGMENT OF GOD!!

There were many others affected by the wrong decision of Goliath.  I Samuel 17:51.

The right Armour not only had victory over the enemy but gave courage to others.  I Samuel 17:52.

Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:13 - Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.
